Arts et santé 2025
During this ‘Arts and Health’ session, zazen will be practised in the morning and late afternoon. It will be the return to the silent source of our true creativity, the return to our true health, what Master Taisen Deshimaru called the ‘return to the normal condition’.
PROGRAMME
WORKSHOPS
Arrival: Friday April 11 late afternoon, dinner at 8:30pm.
Departure: Thursday April 17 after breakfast.
Mornings: zazen/ceremony/genmai, then workshops.
Lunch at 12:30.
Afternoons: Workshops, then zazen and meal.
Each evening after lunch: a lecture or workshop presentation.
Wednesday April 16: exhibition of works and festive meal.
SESSHIN
From Friday April 18 to Sunday April 20 (2,5 days)
Arrival: Thursday April 17 late afternoon, dinner at 8:30pm.
Departure: Sunday April 20 after lunch.
TEACHING by Simone Jikō Wolf
Throughout the session, teaching will be given by Simone Jikō Wolf.
A disciple of master Taisen Deshimaru, Simone Jikō Wolf is abbess of the Kōsetsu-ji temple in Switzerland. She teaches regularly at the Gendronnière temple, where she was abbess in 2017 and 2018, and leads sesshins in Switzerland and Europe. She is actively involved in the International Zen Association as delegate president and member of the Spiritual Council.

- ZEN CALLIGRAPHY ZEN AND SUMI-E with Ines Doshin Igelnick
Ines Doshin Igelnick, a disciple of master Jikō Simone Wolf, shares the study of this art in workshops in France and abroad. She also exhibits in galleries and cultural venues and produces large brush performances for all audiences.
- SUTRA RECITATION with Dōkō Magali Holzhauer
The nun Dōkō Magali Holzhauer was trained in Nisōdō for two years and has been practising for twenty years with her master Jikō Simone Wolf at the Kōsetsu-ji temple.
- RAKU CERAMICS with Barbara Weibel
Barbara Weibel was trained at the Heimberg Pottery Centre and the School of Applied Arts in Bern (Switzerland), and now lives in the Drôme. Over the years, study trips and artistic residencies in Japan have nurtured her skills and inspiration. She has been practising and teaching the Raku technique since 1986.
- TAI-CHI-CHUAN with Virginie Mitsukō Fouillaud
Virginie Mitsukō Fouillaud has been practising Yang style tai chi and qi gong since 2012. She is a disciple of Jikō Simone Wolf and practices in Kōsetsu-ji and Paris.
- KESA SEWING with Tina Chinmyo Feller & Gyokusan Esther Gerber
Tina Chinmyo Feller was ordained by Raphaël Doko Triet. She has been sewing the kesa since 1995 and has taught at La Gendronnière for many years. Her assistant will be Gyokusan Esther Gerber, a disciple of Jikō Simone Wolf, who practices and teaches the kesa at Kōsetsu-ji, in Switzerland.
- YOGA with Elena Jigetsu Ciocca
Elena Jigetsu Ciocca is a Zen nun and a disciple of Master Simone Jikō Wolf. She has been teaching Raja yoga for many years, which has its roots in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, transmitted and commented on by her teachers Moiz Palaci and Renata Angelini in accordance with the teachings of Gérard Blitz and Vimala Takar.
- AWAKENING TO CREATION with Reiren Ulrike Weiss & Stefano Seido Minzi
Ulrike Reiren Weiss zen nun, studied art and visual communication at the University of Kassel, Germany, where she exhibited and performed and took part in art projects in Germany and Morocco. She has taught art in Morocco, Kazakhstan and Germany. She currently lives and works (large-format drawing, documentary photography, installations, and artistic collaboration with the city) in Freiburg, Germany.
Stefano Seido Minzi graduated in art history from La Sapienza University in Rome in 2002 and went on to gain a master’s degree in printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts in London in 2008. He completed his training in art therapy at the ATI in Bologna in 2020. He discovered the practice of Zazen in London in 2007 and has been continuing practicing to this day. Since 2020, he has been following the teaching of Simone Jikō Wolf.
