Tainan Alain Liebmann

Alain Liebmann was born in Paris in 1945. He met Master Taisen Deshimaru in 1971 and received the bodhisattva ordination from him, and later the monk ordination in 1976. He directly, intensely and regularly followed his teaching in the various Paris dojos (Montparnasse and Pernety) until the master’s death in 1982.

He continued with the same perseverance in the Paris Dojo until 1991, when he set out alone for Ireland, where he created several dojos (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway). He was also a summer camp godo at La Gendronnière for four years, and now regularly leads sesshin in Ireland and Europe.

He currently lives in Galway, the central point for Irish Zen connected to the IZA and Master Deshimaru.
